Autodesk has today launched a new version of its popular SketchBook Pro iPad app. The user interface is much improved over the original version that shipped the same day as the first iPad–for instance, you can pin toolbars to the sides of the screen. On the iPad 2, it supports a high-resolution 2048-by-1536 canvas. Artists can now start creating an image on an iPhone and continue working on it on an iPad, or finish it on their Mac. A total of 90 new brushes and brush controls can now be found in SketchBook Pro, alongside new customizable palettes and gestures.

Samsung has just informed that its latest flagship Android device, the Samsung Galaxy S II is available on the market in Sweden.The Samsung Galaxy S II was announced at Mobile World Congress in February. Just like many new high-end smartphones it comes with a dual-core processor, which originally had a clock speed at 1GHz, but that was subsequently increased to its current 1.2GHz.Starting this week, mobile phone users in the country would be able to purchase the new device for around SEK5,490 (USD881), the company unveiled.

RIM teamed up with Wikitude to bring their augmented reality solution to BlackBerry OS 7 and the BlackBerry Bold 9900 to show off the new magnetometer in the device. As well as providing more than 150 million geo-referenced places aggregated from over 1,000 different content providers like Wikipedia, Twitter and YouTube, Wikitude will also fully integrate the BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) allowing users to interact with their BBM contacts and meet new people in augmented reality.

Motorola has confirmed their XOOM tablet will launch in Australia with Telstra. The device is expected to become available for purchase in the country on the airwaves of Telstra on May 24th.The XOOM will become available from Telstra on the 24th May for $840 outright. It will also be available through one of three 24-month Telstra Data+ cap plans that include a monthly $25 or $15 credit put towards the cost of the device. The AU$29 plan includes 1GB of monthly data, the $49 plan includes 7GB of monthly data and the $79 includes 12GB of monthly data. Telstra business customers have their choice of three plans, plus the company says that pre-paid options will be announced closer to its launch date.

Back at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, HTC Corporation announced the release of its first Tablet PC, the HTC Flyer. It arrives on shelves with Google’s Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS. The Taiwanese tech giants describe the stylus as a “Battery Powered dual function penâ€� which they say will increase accuracy and allow the user to create precision work. Today, the official HTC Flyer Store, which HTC is running in conjunction with online retailer Expansys, currently lists a whole heap of HTC Flyer accessories – one of which is indeed the “HTC Flyer Magic Penâ€� with a price tag of £47.99 attached to it.
