Skype Launches 5.3 For Windows And New Linux Update Description

Skype has rolled out a new update for Windows (Skype 5.3). This update brings some features like improved video quality for Skype Mobile users, and better call quality on the desktop version. The main update to the Linux release are improvements to sound and audio together with call waiting and holding, as well as easy conference hosting, and probably the biggest improvement is the addition of support for Skype Access.

Other fixes and improvements include issues with unsent Instant Messages being deleted when switching to SMS mode in conversation, a problem with Call Phones number suggesting, which made it hard to call short numbers, and a new feature where Skype now shows users’ presence icons on collapsed contact profile cards.
